We’re excited to announce our new partnership with Secure Schools, a leading provider of cyber security solutions for the education sector. With cyber threats on the rise, schools and multi-academy trusts need robust security measures to protect their data, staff, and students. Our collaboration with Secure Schools will help educational institutions strengthen their cyber security posture through auditing, testing, and training.
Who are Secure Schools?
Secure Schools is a cyber security specialist dedicated to protecting schools, academies, and multi-academy trusts (MATs). They provide tailored security solutions that help educational institutions assess risks, test vulnerabilities, train staff and build policies to prevent cyber incidents.
With a deep understanding of the challenges schools face, Secure Schools offers practical and affordable solutions to enhance security, ensure compliance with DfE guidelines and mitigate cyber risks.
Why cyber security auditing, testing, and training is essential
Cyber attacks targeting the education sector are becoming more frequent and sophisticated. Schools hold sensitive data on students and staff, making them attractive targets for ransomware, phishing, and data breaches. Ensuring strong cyber security defence is no longer optional, it’s a necessity.
The Department for Education (DfE) has emphasised the importance of cyber security, and a cyber response plan is a key requirement of the Risk Protection Arrangement (RPA) for schools. To remain compliant, schools must implement regular security audits and staff training to reduce cyber risks.
Introducing Secure Schools’ new cyber score framework
We’re excited to share Secure Schools’ Cyber score, a brand new, FREE framework designed to help schools measure cyber health and improve their cyber security resilience. Cyber score provides:
- A clear assessment of cyber security strengths and weaknesses
- Actionable recommendations to enhance security and mitigate risks
- Clear pathways for improvement
- Guidance on meeting DfE and RPA requirements
- Benchmarking against national averages to track your school’s progress
The framework comprises of 200 self-evaluation questions, each one being a yes or no statement with an easy-to-understand explanation. Your answers are analysed with the scoring system as you progress, and turned into a report of recommendations, along with your cyber score. By working together, we can help schools and trusts stay secure, compliant, and prepared for evolving cyber threats.
Our partnership with Secure Schools reflects our commitment to helping the education sector build a safer digital environment. If you’re looking to improve your school’s cyber security or would like to know more about cyber score, get in touch with us today.
