Microsoft 365 Copilot Business: Affordable pricing for SMBs

16 December 2025

On 1st December 2025, Microsoft launched Microsoft 365 Copilot Business, a new, cost-effective way for small and medium-sized organisations to adopt AI productivity tools. For organisations with less than 300 users and already using Copilot, there are significant cost savings to be made, and for those who have previously considered Copilot but couldn’t justify the investment, it’s now a much more accessible option.

What is Microsoft Copilot Business

Copilot Business delivers the full Microsoft 365 Copilot experience at around two-thirds of the cost of the standard licence. It integrates directly into Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint, helping employees:

  • Automate repetitive tasks
  • Improve productivity
  • Save time on everyday processes
  • Gain insights from organisational data more quickly

The only limitation is that it’s for small to medium sized organisations, with up to 300 users.

How much does Copilot Business cost

The new licence is available from £16.10 per user/month. For a limited time, introductory pricing as low as £13.80 per user/month is available – a substantially lower entry point than previously.

As Copilot is an add-on, users will still need an existing Microsoft 365 Business subscription (such as Business Basic, Standard or Premium) before activating Copilot Business.

New Microsoft 365 bundles

To make adoption even easier, Microsoft has rolled out new bundles for all subscriptions (Business Basic, Standard, Premium) that has Copilot Business built in. This simplifies licensing and ensures you don’t need to purchase Copilot separately.

Can existing Copilot users switch too?

Yes – if your organisation already uses Microsoft 365 Copilot and has fewer than 300 users, switching to Copilot Business is the most cost-effective path. If you’re on a monthly billing cycle, the transition can happen quickly. Organisations with annual commitments will need to wait until the end of their current term before migrating to the cheaper licence.
