The challenge

Aspire were facing persistent issues with its existing unreliable Wi-Fi infrastructure, which was built around ageing access points. Connectivity would frequently drop, causing major disruptions to daily business activities and impacting productivity. Although they already had a high-speed leased line in place, it was clear that the Wi-Fi network itself was inadequate.

Needing a partner who could provide expertise across both Microsoft and Google Workspace platforms, Aspire had recently joined Primary Technology for Managed IT support and decided to address their connectivity issues. Their primary objective was to overhaul the troublesome Wi-Fi system to ensure reliable, high-performance coverage throughout their large office space. The existing setup failed to deliver consistent connectivity, and they required a solution that could guarantee uptime, stability, and support the growing demands of a modern, cloud-based working environment.

The solution

To resolve the connectivity challenges and deliver a future-ready infrastructure, Primary Technology implemented a robust Wi-Fi upgrade using Ubiquiti Unifi technology – a preferred choice for commercial-grade environments. At the core of the solution was the Ubiquiti Unifi Dream Machine Pro, an enterprise-grade network appliance with built-in routing, switching, and cloud-based management capabilities. This device also acts as an enterprise-class network security gateway, helping to streamline operations and provide full threat management.

Five Ubiquiti Unifi access points were strategically placed throughout the premises to ensure seamless, high-performance Wi-Fi coverage across the entire space. These access points are centrally managed through the Unifi controller, giving the Primary Technology Service Desk team remote visibility and control for proactive support and troubleshooting.

Additionally, a 5G Wi-Fi backup router was deployed to provide a resilient failover solution, ensuring uninterrupted internet access in the event of a primary connection issue. The setup was meticulously planned and configured to minimise disruption, with every component optimised for speed, coverage, and scalability.

The client now benefits from centralised Wi-Fi network management and security monitoring, allowing for rapid response and updates. This solution not only resolved their existing issues but also positioned them with a modern, stable infrastructure to support their business operations today and into the future.
