They supply private offices in Leeds, Pudsey and Wakefield with access to free Wi-Fi, meeting rooms and secure 24/7 access.  The offices are complemented by modern kitchen facilities, communal dining areas and onsite bathrooms with showers for those who commute to work by bicycle.  

The rented offices in Leeds come fully furnished, are inclusive of bills and offer free tea & coffee and free on-site parking.

The challenge

Over time the number of Wi-Fi devices used by the business tenants and guests at Madison Offices has greatly increased, with many using video calling and streaming services on a regular basis.

With more demanding web applications and video streaming services in use, it became clear the legacy system was unable to cope and that they needed an upgrade to the wireless system to keep up with the high demand.

In order to achieve their goals, Madison Offices turned to their Managed IT Support provider, Primary Technology, to help meet their desired Wi-Fi standards and to be able to support their tenants and guests in a high-density environment.

The solution

With many years of wireless networking experience, Primary Technology conducted a comprehensive technical survey and network audit to identify any coverage voids and interference areas, in order to provide optimal Wi-Fi performance.

Once coverage voids and interference areas were eliminated, the infrastructure team completed a network design and deployment plan, followed by configuring and installing a reliable and secure Ubiquiti Unifi system, comprised of multiple access points.

In addition to the access points, a feature-rich Unifi Cloud Controller was installed to provide cloud management and remote monitoring of the system. Additional hardware included a Dream Machine Pro that was configured to support the use of multiple VLANs and to decrease future management costs of running the system. Ubiquiti switches were implemented to provide the backbone for data transfer.

Overall, the recommended Ubiquiti solution delivered a cost-effective, fully managed wireless system that provided best-value to the customer.
