So it was that time of year again, when Primary T invites some of its customers to come along to BETT without the hassle of planning the day themselves. As usual BETT is a rite of passage for anyone working in education or edu/tech.
Starting the day early at Bradford Interchange we all boarded the train and got seated ready for the journey down to our final destination at the Excel Arena. This year the train journey was slightly different, and with the majority of school effected by the BLN broadband renewals, in stepped our partner company Schools Broadband. Already exhibiting down at BETT, they kindly supplied us with a “goodie” bag for every attendee and also offered their stand up as a base of operations.
On the train journey down we ran a prize draw with Salterforth Primary winning a £500 off Schools Broadband voucher and Brackenhill Primary winning the Windows tablet kindly sponsored by Stone Computing who were also exhibiting at the event.
After a couple of hours of navigating the stands, meeting new faces, and dipping our toes into some of the new and emerging technology markets, we all rather thankfully met up at the entrance ready to leave. As we were following Chris Barford’s “ Tour de London” navigating a number of tube stations, we all eventually made it to Nando’s.
A few drinks and some spicy chicken later, we hopped on board the train on our way back to a frosty Bradford Interchange. Whilst on the train back we asked schools to fill out a feedback form which we’ve taken back to the PT office to help improve future BETT trips.
We would like to thank everyone who attended, we hope an eventful day was had by all who braved the cold early start to join us.
